Exclusive First Look Inside Tesla’s Retro Diner in Hollywood

        David Doe • April 24, 2025

Tesla’s retro-themed diner at 7000 Santa Monica Boulevard in Los Angeles is coming to life. Wrapped in sleek stainless steel and located alongside Superchargers and an outdoor theater, the futuristic venue is nearing completion. The massive 45-foot LED screen in the drive-in theater recently lit up, giving a glimpse of what’s to come.

Thanks to photos shared by early site visitors, we now have our first detailed look inside Tesla’s upcoming diner.

Originally described as a retro-futuristic concept, the interior reveals a much deeper design vision—far beyond simple nostalgia.

Step Inside: A Fusion of Classic and Modern

Inside, round diner-style booths blend seamlessly with sleek lighting fixtures, bringing a modern twist to an Art Deco aesthetic. The design pairs beautifully with Tesla’s Robovan concept, creating a dining space that feels both futuristic and stylish.

Though construction is ongoing—with materials and tools still visible—these photos offer the clearest view yet of the interior experience.

        The Entrance and Signage

The diner’s round, spaceship-like front door creates a sci-fi atmosphere from the moment you arrive. While some speculated it might slide into the wall like in a sci-fi movie, it likely opens inward or outward in a more traditional way.

Above the door hangs the Tesla Diner sign for the first time, featuring an Art Deco design. The signage also confirms that the diner will be open 24/7.

        Windows and Tesla-Themed Artwork

Tesla’s attention to design extends to the windows and shutters, which perfectly match the restaurant’s aesthetic. Visible in the background is concept art for the Cybertruck. We hope more vehicle-themed art will be added to tell the broader Tesla story and immerse diners in the brand’s vision.

        Outdoor Seating Area

An outdoor seating section is also under development. Although the patio furniture is still wrapped on pallets, it's likely already positioned and awaiting setup, offering guests the option to dine al fresco.

        More Than Just a Diner

Tesla’s Hollywood Diner is more than a place to grab a bite while charging. It will feature an in-car theater experience, in-app dining services, and seat up to 200 guests. Early plans also included a rooftop dining area, which may still be in the works as construction progresses.

Originally announced during Tesla’s 2023 Investor Day, this project may play a role in reshaping the brand’s public image. Amid recent political controversies, the diner offers a fun, immersive space that reflects Tesla’s innovative spirit.

If the food matches the creativity of the design, this restaurant could become a landmark—not just for LA, but as a model for similar concepts across North America and beyond.

With its bold vision and prime location, Tesla’s Hollywood Diner is poised to become a must-visit destination for both locals and tourists alike.
